Garage Door & Curb Cutting for Removal

This evening I went to the house to see if any work was done today. I saw some long thin cardboard boxes in the garage that weren't there before. I walked through the house but could find no sign of any work.

As I started to leave, I looked up and noticed the garage door.

I stood looking at the house for a while when I noticed a lot of dried mud in the street next to our curb. I couldn't understand what it was.

Then I started noticing the saw marks in the curb. I backed up to get a wide view. I soon realized what I was seeing. They have cut the curb into 4 segments (highlighted below) so that it will be easier to remove either by bulldozer or by jackhammer.

Cabinet Installation and Underground Electrical

We couldn't get out to the house today until late afternoon. Yeah, cabinets. I'm pretty sure all of the moved earth is from an underground electrical installation. My guess is they are preparing to set up forms for the flatwork (driveway and sidewalk).

Gas Line Installation

Cabinets were originally supposed to arrive today but I was updated that they wouldn't arrive until Thursday. However, the gas line was placed today.

Another Electrical/Drywall Error - Walls Textured

I discovered another error where the drywall is covering up an electrical terminal. This time a light switch inside the kitchen pantry.

The photos below show where the switch is located (outlined in red), the green lines are just guides for a point of reference.

Below is a reverse angle.

On the bright side, the walls got textured today.

Electrical/Drywall Error

One of our upgrades was a 5 foot elevated power outlet for the living room so that we can mount our TV without cables dangling. They wired us for it but drywalled over it.

I would normally just wait to say anything while they are working, but it is obviously an oversight.

Here are the electrical boxes for this portion of the living room on a frame only.

Here is the drywall after the first day. I doubt they were aware that they covered the elevated boxes but we'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

Here the drywall joints and nails have been smoothed over in preparation for texturing. This is further evidence that an oversight has occurred. They should have cut the holes for the boxes already.

No, having documented this, this is not the order in which I figured this all out. Late last night looking at the last image is when I noticed it. I started to worry if the elevated outlets were even placed during framing.

It had been a few months since I saw the electrical stuff. After looking through the photos I took on June 9th, I saw the picture at the top. They should be able to easily cut the holes out.
