Foundation Repair - Part 1 (Rebar)

When I showed up today at the house the GC was there along with an inspector who was very busy and focused on his work.

I didn't want to hinder their work so I just took a few photos and got out of there.

I noticed 3 things.

Most importantly, the two holes from the botched plumbing placement, have been reinforced with rebar.

Next, I saw two pallets full of concrete mix that I can only assume will be for our sidewalk and driveway.

Last, there were a couple of metal rails sitting in front of the garage. Maybe for the driveway also. I don't know about that.

Retrenching and Fresh Sand

Nearly a month since the ground was trenched, the crew showed up today to dig out the soil that had fallen back in. Additionally they have been adding fresh sand on top of the squared off section as you can see in the photos. Additionally, I noticed these little wires running the length of the foundation that I can only guess are guides for something.

Foundation Crew Arrival

The builder sales rep texted me a photo today of the foundation crew. It looks like they are starting to lay out boards for building the foundation forms.

Snow Day 2 and More Markers

We got a pretty decent snow today for Texas. I left work an hour early to go take a quick peak at the lot this time with actual snow unlike a few days ago.

There were more markers placed. Today I saw markers by AT&T and ONCOR. There were also markers for the 4 corners of the foundation. Last, they have put up mesh and plastic barriers around the perimeter of the property.

While I was out taking photos in the 26 degree cold, my car died and never started again. I'm guessing dead battery. I called a tow truck to take it to my mechanic.
