Overview of Progress and Delays

Notes from builder:
- An additional GC has been called in to help the currently overwhelmed GC
- Drywall any day now (1 week behind)
- Underground electrical (waiting)
- Driveway and sidewalk ready to be set up

Notes from sales rep:
- GC almost walked off of the job because of continuous buyer mobbing
- 6 July closings are top priority for corporate (money dries up when you don't close often enough)
- August projection is no guess. Corporate has too much on the line for guessing
- Corporate supervisors out twice per week to ensure construction times don't run over. This is a direct result of two factors. Unexpected sales boom during one of our wettest years and homes taking 10-11 months to build.
- 38 homes being built to date just in this community
- 10 pre-construction meetings yet to be scheduled for new buyers
- Normal scheduled update calls have been nearly impossible
- Internal corporate changes have been an additional burden (new VP, new policies, transitioning between vendors)
- RAIN

Brick Moving - Day #4

I talked to the lender this morning. They are telling us the house will be finished according to the builder in 30 days. I don't see that happening. Anyway, I had to send over financial documents to get that part going.

I moved the remaining 3 dozen bricks from the yard into the garage today at lunch. Otherwise, nothing has happened at the house in regards to construction at all this week. They were supposed to have the drywall done this week. I don't know what happened.

Someone has dug up the bricks that were buried from all of the rain we had.

They threw the bricks into this pile. I had to dig them out. There were about 3 dozen unbroken bricks.

I added them to the pile.

Brick Moving - Day #3

At last my wife and I moved the rest of the bricks into the garage. There are still a few left over in the yard buried in the mud. Who cares?

Brick Moving - Day #2

It got late and we still had not eaten anything. We were losing day light fast. So, I went to the house alone to move bricks. My wife stayed home to eat and feed the baby.

I moved about 200 bricks until it was just too dark to see. It would be unfortunate to get bitten by something in the dark or appear as a brick thief.

Brick Moving - Day #1

My wife and I moved about 200 bricks from the yard into the garage today. This was no easy task.

We tried using a two wheeler first but the bricks were just too heavy to move. Instead, I placed 5 bricks at a time in a 5 gallon bucket and carried them to the garage where my wife stacked them on a pallet. This was of course just before sunset when the day is cooling off just before dark. We have about 800 to go.

UPDATE (7-12-2015)
Here are a couple of photos I took the next day since I was too tired from the evening before and it was already getting dark.

You can see where we were pulling bricks from (short stacks).

The pallet we were stacking bricks on.
