Electric Meter - Appraisal/GFE/TIL

Nothing at the house today except an electric meter installed. The builder said power should be on Monday. Let's hope so. They have less than 2 weeks to finish the house.

We received a copy of the appraisal, Good Faith Estimate (GFE), and the Truth in Lending Disclosure Statement (TIL). We are pretty happy with everything though we do have some questions about the closing costs.

Electrical Inspection

I don't know what this is.

There is supposed to be a magazine rack built into the wall next to the toilet.

The forms for the patio slab was pulled today.

Delayed Tile Work Explained

Apparently something in the master shower is not level. That is why the tilers have not returned. Meanwhile the GC has been out of town and not available to do anything to move things along. When I talked to him on the phone he said he is waiting for electricity to be turned on. That will be followed by wood flooring. He is still optimistic about finishing up 3rd week of this month.

In the evening I took the family over to Lowes Home Improvement to look at stuff for the house.

Top Out Plumbing

Toilets, fixtures, bath sink, and garbage disposal installed with working water. Aside from the house, I had to have my wife sign a letter to the lender indicating that I have 100% access to our funds in our joint account. It was strange to me at first because I'm the original account holder. However, the lender didn't know that.

Feeling a little better today. I took these photos after work.

I went home and my wife wanted to come back to see the house. We took these photos a few hours later. We wanted the fence posts on the inside of the yard but they did it backwards. It turns out we like it better this way.

Preliminary financing paperwork came through my email today. My wife and I had a call with the lender after work to discuss the details and ask questions. I have to get everything submitted tomorrow to get the ball rolling.
